FAQs
1. Q: How long until I get my red border card?
A: If you apply during our open hours via this website, you will receive a digital copy at the completion of your assessment visit. If you applied using an application form at a dispensary, there is information on the form regarding when to expect your card.
If you apply outside of business hours, your application will be processed in the order it was received once we reopen at 8am.
2. Q: Can I shop today?
A: Yes, dispensaries across Maine accept the digital version of your card if it has the provider signature, the serial number, the ID number, and a red or purple appearing border. MMCC provides this type of digital medication card.

A: You need a valid photo ID issued by the state of Maine demonstrating Maine citizenship. Passports, tribal ID cards, military ID cards, and other forms of identification are not accepted.
4. Q: Can a digital med card be used instead of a physical one?
A: Yes, a digital medical cannabis card can be used in the same manner as a physical card.

6. Q: How long does our certification process take?
A: During open hours, the typical turnaround is 10 - 20 minutes.
Note: MMCC relies on the State of Maine for registration numbers. Rarely, this State service is offline. If your application is affected by this issue, MMCC staff will inform you as soon as possible and provide an updated time estimate.
